Turnkey PCB Manufacturer in India

Insights into Different PCB Materials

PCB Material has become a very important and common name in the manufacturing world. The easy making of these materials, durability, wide usage and long lasting nature have made them extremely popular in today’s world. In this article we will focus into the different and most useful PCB material available in the market and how you can choose the right material for you depending on your requirements.

FR4:

FR4 stands for glass-reinforced epoxy laminate and manufactured as per NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) grade. FR signifies that it is flame retardant and it is manufactured as per complying with the ULP4V-0 standards. It is made up by mixing woven fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin binder and completely flame resistance. FR4 material is most commonly used in printed circuit boards, relays, washers, switches, transformers and arc shields.

MCPCB:

MCPCB stands for metal core PCB which means that the core base material of theses PCB’S are made up of metal in place of regular FR4 or CEM1-3. It is also known as metal PCB or Metal Base PCB. Aluminum, Copper and steel alloy are most commonly used in the manufacturing of MCPCB. Aluminum has extremely good heat transfer and dissipation capacity, copper has also similar properties and thus they are used in the manufacturing of MCPCB. The thermal conductivity dielectric material of MCPCB makes it apart from a regular FR4 material.

RO4350B:

RO4350B is composed of woven glass reinforced hydrocarbon and provides extremely good electrical performance just like PTFE. It provides tight control over dielectric constant and incurs less loss in the same standard manufacturing process of epoxy or glass. Moreover the cost of RO4350B is far less than microwave laminates and thus finds wide application in automotive sensors, direct broadcast satellites, power amplifiers and RFID tags.

RO4003C:

Quite similar in nature with Ro4350B, RO4003C is made up of thermoset plastic resin laminates and has been developed keeping in mind to use them as an alternative to PTFE laminates generally used in application of microwave frequency. The performance of RO4003C is far better than traditional FR4 and also has similar assembling and manufacturing cost. RO4003C finds application in defense, aerospace, microwaves and RF applications.

RT5880:

This is a glass microfiber reinforced PTFE composites and are used in micro-strip circuits and extracting strip-line. These microfibers are randomly oriented and lead to uniform dielectric constant performance. RT5880 laminates can be cut easily and brought into shape with the use of machines. Moreover it is hot and cold solvent resistant and used in edge plating and etching printed circuits.

RT3003:

This is manufactured using circuit materials of high frequency and PTFE composites filled with ceramics and are designed to be used for commercial microwave and RF uses. RT3003 provides exceptional mechanical and electrical performance and are also priced competitively. RT3003 is typically used in GPS Antennas, Automotive Radars, Defense, Aerospace and RF Couplers.

RO4534:

RO4534 is an improved version of RO4500 series and provides impressive performance in antenna applications. This material is filled with ceramic and it is a glass reinforced hydrocarbon material and helps to provide controlled dielectric constant, minimal loss of performance and excellent performance in micro-strip antennas used in mobile infrastructure.

RO6002:

RC6002 provides excellent performance in complex structures involving microwaves and are extremely stable and mechanically reliable in nature. It has extremely low dielectric constant thermal coefficient from -55 degree centigrade to 150 degree centigrade and thus provides the electrical stability required for today’s modern day applications. RO6002 is typically used in Phase Array Antennas, Beam, Forming Networks, Power Backplanes and collision avoidance systems in commercial airlines.

ITERA-MT-3.38:

This PCB laminate material exhibits exceptionally good electrical properties which remains stable over a wide range of temperature and frequency range. This material is perfectly suitable for microwave and RF circuit designs and provides stable dielectric constant from -55 degree centigrade to 125 degree centigrade to a range of 20 GHz. ITERA-MT-3.38 finds extensive usage and application in DAS antenna, base station and military radar operations.

ITERA-MT-3.5:

ITERA-MT-3.5 is an improved version of ITEra-mt-3.35 and provides better stability and higher performance. It finds its application in a wide range of modern day equipment ad antennas and proves to be of immense importance in aerospace defense and radar technology. The improved design of ITERA-MT-3.5 aids in stable flow of electricity to the circuits resulting in aggressive performance.
